Owns and manages First Light, LLC, which provides direct and affiliate consulting to a variety of medical device companies, and has served as VP Marketing/BD and acting officer at several client start-ups. Has founded multiple companies, and is currently co-founder of Daily Feast, Inc., a food app for recipes, and MeTeDa, USA, a diabetes device company. Mentors entrepreneurs through CLSI, Breakout Labs, and IndieBio. Prepared selection model for UCSF’s medical device and pharma intrapreneur program. Previously held leadership positions in marketing, general management, BD, and development at market leading companies J&J and Syntex (now Roche). Founded and brought to commercialization iCare Health Monitoring – a consumer focused, technology based chronic disease monitoring company – raising a total of $8M. Held key management team role at SMBG start-up, Pelikan, helping to raise $170M.
Tony has brought to market and launched successful branded products to the industry, notably Syva EMIT® toxicology assays to POC and laboratories, LifeScan SureStepPro® bedside glucose testing to US hospitals (reached 35% hospital share), LifeScan’s home anticoagulation test Harmony®, iCare’s Health Buddy disease management systems to retail drug (Kerr Drug and CVS), the Pelikan Sun® Lancing Device to Australia and Germany, and the aTavola food app for tracking meal portions and daily diet goals. He has also assisted launching client products to professional and consumer markets. Tony has a BA from New York University and an MS in Medicinal Chemistry from Northeastern University, plus Stanford business graduate courses and extensive J&J training.
