Boehringer Ingelheim to Receive BayBio Award at 10th Annual Pantheon Ceremony

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – December 2, 2013 – Boehringer Ingelheim Fremont, Inc. will receive the 2013 BayBio Pantheon DiNA Global Reach Award at the 10th Annual BayBio Pantheon Ceremony on December 5th.

The global pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim has made a significant long term investment in building a local presence in the Bay Area. Since being acquired in 2011, Boehringer Ingelheim Fremont, Inc. has become a part of Boehringer Ingelheim’s biopharmaceutical contract manufacturing business, “Boehringer Ingelheim BioXcellence‚Ñ¢”. In conjunction with Boehringer Ingelheim BioXcellence‚Ñ¢ sites in Biberach (Germany), Vienna (Austria) and Shanghai (China), the Fremont facility is a strategic partner offering tailor-made contract development and manufacturing services to the biopharmaceutical industry; providing the entire production technology chain from DNA to fill and finish.

Cohen, a researcher in Stanford University’s department of genetics and medicine, and well known as an inventor on the Cohen/Boyer gene cloning patent – responsible for launching industry giants like Genentech and Amgen – will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards for their contributions to making a transformative difference within the life science industry.
