Rep. Lieu served in the California State Assembly and the California State Senate.
Rep. Ted Lieu represents the seat once held by Rep. Henry Waxman.

Rep. Ted Lieu immigrated to America when he was three years old and went on to attend Stanford University and Georgetown University Law Center. Before coming to Congress, Lieu served in the U.S. Air Force and continues to serve in the Air Force reserves where he is a Lieutenant Colonel. Lieu also served in the California State Assembly and the California State Senate.

Lieu represents the 33rd Congressional District, the seat formerly held by 40-year incumbent Rep. Henry Waxman, covering portions of Los Angeles County, including the communities of Santa Monica, Torrance and Beverly Hills. He is a member of the House Budget Committee and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. He also serves as Freshman Democratic Class President.
