Successful Collaboration by Industry and Foundations at CALBIO2012
We were so pleased to host nearly 1,000 leaders from across California’s life sciences industry in San Francisco, March 8-9, for the two-day conference CALBIO2012: Driven by Patients.
For the first time, BayBio and BIOCOM organized a statewide meeting for California’s life sciences companies. CALBIO2012: Driven by Patients was the first West Coast conference to bring together industry and disease foundations for successful, mutually beneficial discussions.
Patient access, risk and reform at the FDA, new business models and financing are the pressing issues that face the life sciences industry today. These challenges were addressed by CALBIO2012‘s keynote speakers.
Nearly 110 speakers on 24 panels discussed issues related to capital access, clinical development, reimbursement, drug discovery and regulatory processes. More than 220 companies registered for partnering meetings between industry, investors and disease foundations.
We will make the presentations, videos and photos available to registered attendees.
We were also fortunate to have several elected representatives join us at CALBIO2012.
- Governor Jerry Brown
- Congressman Brian Bilbray
- Assemblyman Jerry Hill
- Mayor Ed Lee
To reach more markets and to expand opportunities for California companies, BayBio and BIOCOM signed a memorandum of understanding with China Medical City. We hope to provide you opportunities to reach more patients.
CALBIO2012 exemplified the strength of California as a model for life science innovation. Through such collaborative efforts between BayBio and BIOCOM, we will continue to pursue programs that provide capital access and a more transparent regulatory environment for our members.
