Our top priority is to enhance the wellbeing of people everywhere. The California Life Sciences Association (CLSA) is committed to providing one robust, unified voice for California’s statewide life sciences sector, which works tirelessly to drive transformative innovation that will benefit patients and consumers in the U.S. and around the world for years to come.

I’m pleased to announce that the BayBio and California Healthcare Institute merger is complete! On May 13, we launched CLSA as the leading voice for California’s life sciences sector. CLSA is now the largest state and regional life sciences advocacy group in the country, serving over 750 biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics companies, research universities and institutes, investors, and service providers. We are headquartered in California with offices in San Diego, South San Francisco and Sacramento, as well as in Washington, D.C. Our organization’s mission is to advance California’s world-leading life sciences innovation ecosystem by advocating for effective national, state and local public policies and supporting entrepreneurs and life sciences businesses.

Later this month we look forward to the launch of the California Life Sciences Institute (CLSI), which will continue and build on the important work of the BayBio Institute. CLSI’s mission will be to maintain California’s leadership in life sciences innovation through entrepreneurial support, science education and career development.

We are on the cusp of major scientific advances in healthcare, agriculture, and energy production.  CLSA will be the voice of the all those creating the exciting life sciences innovation leading us into the future. I welcome you to join us in our mission.
