BayBio Institute Announces the Spring 2014 FAST Companies
The BayBio Institute is happy to announce the companies selected for the second BayBio Fellows All-Star Team (FAST) Advisory Program. This eight-week team-based advisory program brings compelling life science startups together with a high-level group of advisors to provide intensive experience, guidance and networks for selected entrepreneurs. The FAST program underscores BayBio’s strong tradition of helping to foster Bay Area companies and is made possible through the generous support of Abbott Diabetes Care, Pfizer and Bayer Healthcare.
In weekly meetings from mid-April to mid-June, FAST companies will meet with their assigned teams of advisors, consisting of experienced entrepreneurs and experts from various fields including clinical development, regulatory, intellectual property and corporate structure, reimbursement, and business/corporate development. Team input is intended to help FAST companies develop a sound business model and commercialization strategy, and to assist with product development & marketing, and any other areas of critical need identified by entrepreneurs and their advisors. The program will culminate in a June 12 Pitch Showcase at Genentech Hall in Mission Bay, in which FAST entrepreneurs will present their companies to an audience of investors, advisors and other stakeholders.
This year’s FAST companies are Applied Molecular Transport, Ciel Medical, Nano Precision Medical, Whole Biome, and Zephyrus Biosciences. In addition to the strong list of applicants, we are also pleased to note that three of the five FAST companies this year are lead by women CEOs. Please join us in congratulating the Spring 2014 FAST companies!
