CLSA Monthly Speaker Series with Deputy Legislative Secretary Donna Campbell

May 27, 2015

CLSA discussing the importance of clinical guidelines and savings that come with innovative equipment and drugs with Deputy Legislative Secretary Donna Campbell at our May Speaker Series

On May 27, CLSA members had the opportunity to discuss healthcare issues, the importance of innovation and the increased need for patient access to drugs with Deputy Legislative Secretary Donna Campbell. Secretary Campbell was appointed by Governor Brown on Jan. 7, 2015 after having served as chief deputy secretary for legislative affairs at the California Health and Human Services Agency since 2011. Prior to that, she was the deputy secretary for legislation and general counsel at the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency. Her issue area responsibilities for the Governor include: health and health insurance, as well as human services, child care and welfare.

Campbell discussed the legislative session and the Governor’s healthcare priorities. CLSA members had the opportunity to have an in-depth discussion about the value of medicine, devices and diagnostics in the healthcare system and how our treatments enable patients to have a better quality of life while also creating savings in the healthcare system. Campbell understands the importance of the life sciences sector and is looking forward to continue working alongside CLSA and its member companies.
