Mike Guerra will succeed Sara Radcliffe as the president and CEO of the California Life Sciences Association, the trade group announced this week.
Guerra has held senior roles at VWR International, distributor and manufacturer of life sciences products. Most recently he was the vice president of the Americas for Avidity Science, in the business of water purification systems and laboratory equipment.
Radcliffe took the helm four years ago, about the time the California Life Sciences Association formed through the merger of BayBio and the California Healthcare Institute. The organization has offices in San Diego and San Francisco.
“She built a seasoned leadership team, including a stellar advocacy team in Sacramento and Washington, DC who executed a strong advocacy agenda at state and federal levels,” said Bill Newell, board chair of the association. “She developed a strong brand and reputation for CLSA which created substantial impact and influence across the state.”
