CLSI Releases new Video on FAST Program
The California Life Sciences Institute is pleased to announce the release of a new video on the Fellows All-Star Team (FAST) Advisory Program, which has been in operation since Fall of 2013. The acclaimed FAST program provides select entrepreneurs with intensive review and coaching to perfect their business model, product development plans, and to build a compelling commercialization strategy. Made possible through the generous sponsorship of VWR International, the video includes interviews with FAST entrepreneurs, advisors, and FAST Senior Program Advisor, Steve Karp.
“We expect the new video to be a valuable tool for getting the message of FAST out to prospective startups, advisors, investors, and sponsors,” remarked Karp. “We have a great story to tell.”
In just four program cycles, FAST has generated over 2,200 advisory hours valued at over $570,000 for the 20 companies who have completed the program. Since participating in FAST, these companies have raised over $55 million and created 72 new jobs. The Fall 2015 FAST companies will present at the Fall 2015 Final FAST Showcase and Reception on December 10, 2015 at UCSF Mission Bay.
FAST is made possible through the generous support of Abbott Diabetes, Amgen, Bayer Healthcare, Gilead Sciences, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Eli Lilly, Morrison & Foerster, Onyx and VWR.
“This is a great opportunity to demonstrate to city officials and residents the valuable efforts that our industry is undertaking to develop students for careers in the industry,” said CLSI Executive Director Lori Lindburg, “and to do so in a manner on par and beyond that of the very active tech sector!”
