The CLSA PAC is gearing up for multiple events in the upcoming quarter, including events for Senator Dr. Richard Pan, Assemblymember Marc Berman, Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, Assemblymember Blanca Rubio, and a candidate from the Senate District 22, Susan Rubio. The events are tremendous opportunities for CLSA members to interact with legislators for a minimal contribution.

Past Events

March 20 – Senator Dr. Richard Pan (Senate District 6 – Sacramento): CLSA PAC and AdvaMed CA PAC hosted a fun-filled fundraiser for Senator Dr. Richard Pan on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Senator Dr. Richard Pan was first elected to the State Assembly in 2010 and then the State Senate in 2014. He represents the 6th district, which includes West Sacramento, Elk Grove and unincorporated areas of Sacramento County. Dr. Pan co-founded and served as chair of Healthy Kids Healthy Future, where he helped secure health, dental and vision coverage for over 65,000 children in the Sacramento area. Senator Dr. Pan and representatives from numerous companies from the life sciences ecosystem had an incredible time bowling and sampling the taco bar. 

April 16 – Assemblymember Evan Low (Assembly District 28 – Campbell): CLSA PAC and AdvaMed CA PAC hosted an event for Assemblymember Low on April 16 at Kru Sushi in Sacramento. Assemblymember Low was elected to the California State Assembly in November of 2014 to represent District 28. At the age of 31, Assemblymember Low became the youngest Asian American legislator to have been elected to the Assembly in state history. His district is located in Silicon Valley and includes Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, and the areas of West San Jose, Willow Glen, Cambrian, and Almaden Valley in San Jose.  Assemblymember Low chairs the Business and Professions Committee, as well as the California Legislative LGBT Caucus. He also chairs the California Legislative Technology and Innovation Caucus.

Upcoming Events

May 8 – Assemblymember Marc Berman (Assembly District 24 – San Francisco Peninsula): CLSA PAC will host an industry event for Assemblymember Berman on May 8th. The location is yet to be determined. Marc Berman was elected to the California Assembly in November of 2016 to represent the 24th District, which includes southern San Mateo County and northern Santa Clara County in the heart of Silicon Valley. A lawyer by training, Marc previously served on the Palo Alto City Council and as the Development Director at the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, a non-profit focused on STEM education and closing the achievement gap in Silicon Valley public schools. Contact Oliver Rocroi to attend.

May 16 Assemblymember Catherine Baker (Assembly District 16 – Dublin): CLSA PAC and PhRMA will host an event for Assemblymember Catherine Baker on May 14. The location is yet to be determined. Assemblymember Catharine Baker (R—Dublin) was elected to the State Assembly in November 2014 to represent the 16th Assembly District, which includes the following communities: Alamo, Danville, Dublin, Lafayette, Livermore, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek. Asm. Baker earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago, overcoming cancer her senior year to graduate Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the UC Berkeley School of Law. Contact Oliver Rocroi to attend.

Date to be Determined – Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (Assembly District 4 – Winters): CLSA PAC will host an industry event for Assemblywoman Aguiar-Curry in the second quarter. Location is yet to be determined. Cecilia Aguiar-Curry was elected to the California Assembly to represent the 4th District, which includes all or parts of Napa, Lake, Yolo, Sonoma, Colusa, and Solano counties. She first served as planning commissioner and then was elected to the city council eventually serving as the first female mayor of Winters.
