On Tuesday, May 7, CLSA hosted its annual Spring Reception and Dinner at the Folger Shakespeare Library on Capitol Hill to recognize and welcome the seven freshman members of the California Congressional Delegation.

Nearly 200 guests attended the public reception, and over 100 guests attended the private dinner. Attendees included several members of the California Congressional Delegation, as well as legislative staff from numerous congressional, leadership, and committee offices, including the House Committees on Energy & Commerce, Ways & Means, Appropriations, and Judiciary, and the Senate Committee on and Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP).

At the dinner, CLSA’s Board of Directors and our guests heard from CLSA’s own Eve Bukowski, Vice President of Patient Advocacy, Outreach and Education, who is a Stage IV colon cancer patient undergoing active treatment. Eve’s powerful keynote address about her remarkable 11-plus-year journey fighting this incurable disease received a standing ovation. During her address, Eve underscored the incredible successes to date and challenges facing the future of metastatic cancer therapy innovation and patient care.

CLSA would like to thank our generous sponsors for making this wonderful evening possible: Abbott, abbvie, Allergan, Amgen, BIO, Cedars-Sinai, Dexcom, Exelixis, Gilead, Global Blood Therapeutics, Horizon Therapeutics, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Merck, Pfizer, Retrophin and Vertex!
