The Promise of Personalized Medicine

The conference focuses on cutting edge personalized medicine being practiced in fighting rare cancer. The event is being held at UCSD Moores Cancer Center Goldberg Auditorium, and will feature topics on circulating tumor DNA, genetics of a rare cancer (cancer of the appendix), personalized vaccine, personalized chemotherapy, and bacteria and cancer. There will also be practical presentations for patients fighting a rare stage 4 cancer of the appendix, on topics such as colostomy care, and programs to empower patients. This conference will benefit CLSA members interested in real life applications of technology used in the fight against rare cancer. The conference will have patients and caregivers fighting pseudomyxoma peritonei who have traveled nationally for the conference.
